Winterize outdoor hoses and faucets

When it comes to making sure things don't break around your house, freezing water is not your friend. Before freezing temperatures come, make sure that all your outdoor hoses are faucets are ready so that you don't experience pricey repairs.

What You Need to Do

  • If there is an shut off inside the house for the external faucets, shut it off.
  • If you had an inside shut off valve, open the outside faucets and let any remaining water drain for an hour to ensure everything drips out.
  • Remove all hoses from the faucets and make sure they are fully drained.
  • Install outdoor faucet covers.
  • Mark this task complete.
