Clean ceiling fans
Every 4 months on the 14th
The ceiling fans in your home are dust magnets. They spin around and move air and with that air comes dust which gets trapped all over your ceiling fans. Performing regular maintenance on your fans will lengthen their life span and remove that dust from your home.
Things You'll Need
- An extending fan duster
- Small shop vacuum (optional)
- Ladder (optional)
Time Involved
10-15 minutes
What You Need to Do
- Turn off the fan
- Gently dust the top of each fan blade. This can be done with an extending fan duster from the ground or from a ladder. Do not put a lot of downward force on the blades. You do not want to bend them or put them out of balance.
- As an optional step, you can utilize a shop vacuum to vacuum any dust from the top of the motor housing.
- Mark this task complete.
